Sqn Camp Is Outstanding Success!!
September 6, 200816 cadets and 5 staff have recently returned from a week long sqn run camp in the lakes. Cadets were bunked in a stone built, mountain rescue hostel with running water, central heating, 4 large dorms, full kitchen, dry room and staff room…..which was all slightly better than last years wet tents!
Cadets and staff enjoyed a range of activities including, hill walking, kayaking, raft building, rock climbing, survival training, shelter building, gorge scrambling and possibly the highlight of the week, gutting and filleting a trout, then cooking it on a open fire.
The cadets performed admirably during the week, moral was high and everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves.
Can I pass on my personal thanks to all of the cadets that attended for their enthusiasm and willingness to participate, and a huge thanks to Mrs Levee, Mr Walker, Mr Levee and Mr Jeffries who staffed the week, the camp could not have gone ahead without their commitment and hard work.
Special awards were made to the following cadets:
Cdt Astley & Hirst – Best Effort
Cdt Sgt Collins – Best NCO
Cdt Cpl Dixon – Best NCO
Cdt Leech – Best Cadet
Cdt Cornbill – Promotion to Cdt Cpl
Photos will be posted on this site soon and a parents presentation night is currently being planned.
